Dementias are syndromes that present with significant cognitive deterioration that exposes all those affected (both patients and relatives) to a series of losses from the moment of diagnosis until the death of the patient. This publication deals with the issue of grief in dementia, from a broad and non-pathological perspective, seeking to understand the psychological processes that family members and patients go through during the coping with the different vital losses that take place during the course of dementia.

Salvador Coscujuela, Sonia. Born in Teruel in 1994. Graduated in Psychology from the University of Zaragoza in the 2012-2016 class. Resident Internal Psychologist at the Miguel Servet University Hospital (Zaragoza) between the years 2017-2021, to obtain the title of Specialist in Clinical Psychology. Additional training through the Master in Contextual Therapies (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Functional Analytical Psychotherapy and Mindfulness) of the ACT Institute (course 2018-2019). International expert course on Alzheimer's and Dementias (Universidad Isabel I) in 2020. Author of different chapters and communications in the field of clinical psychology and psychotherapy.
