Review of the work

Pharmacogenetics is responsible for the study of the incidence of interindividual genetic variations on the response to drugs, with the aim of allowing patients to receive optimal treatment according to their genetic characteristics, offering the development of personalized medicine strategies that allow minimizing the adverse reactions to treatments and therapeutic failures. In this brief review, the implication and importance of pharmacogenetics in cancer patients is addressed.

She has a master's degree in Microbiology and Parasitology from the Complutense University of Madrid and an Expert Degree in Clinical Genetics from the Miguel de Cervantes European University. She is currently a predoctoral researcher at the Department of Microbiology at the University of Oviedo.
